Olympus America Inc. is excited to offer an intensive 4-day Visiomorph/VisiomorphDP and newCAST training in partnership with Visiopharm, the leading provider of advanced software for whole slide imaging and microscopy. This unique learning opportunity is intended for anyone who uses the Visiopharm software for image analysis and/or stereology applications. Participants can choose to attend one or both of the courses offered at Olympus America Inc. headquarters in Center Valley, Pennsylvania:

Course Objectives

Students have the opportunity to learn from highly skilled and experienced Visiopharm staff members, and should expect a highly interactive course with time for open discussions (both inside and outside of designated class time). Specific training topics include:

Visiomorph (Image Analysis)
  • Introduction to digital images and image segmentation
  • Introduction to VisiomorphDP
  • Designing complete image analysis protocol
  • Pre-processing steps
  • Choosing a right segmentation method
  • Post processing steps
  • Visiomorph/VisiomorphDP add-on modules
newCAST (Stereology)
  • Introduction to the framework of design-based stereology
  • newCAST workflow
  • Area sampling
  • Overview of primary stereological probes
  • Physical Disector/Automated Physical Disector
  • Autodisector

Instructors

Martin Kristensson, Professional Service Specialist, Visiopharm. Martin Kristensson holds a M.Sc in image analysis and signal processing from the Technical University of Denmark. He plays an important role in the daily training, support and custom projects for Visiopharm customers.

Johnnie B. Andersen, Senior Application Scientist, Visiopharm. Johnnie B. Andersen received his Ph.D. at the University of Aarhus, and has since 2006 been associated with the Stereology Research Laboratory. He specializes in the demonstration and training of the newCAST stereology software.

Registration Information

Registration fee is $1,500 for 2-day course and $2,000 for 4-day course. This fee does not include travel and lodging. Complimentary continental breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided daily for participants. Additionally, all instructional material will be provided.

Seats are limited and are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Deadline for registration is Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:59PM (EST).
